My approach to successfully managing endometriosis
There is no doubt that endometriosis is one of the most complex – and perhaps one of the most misunderstood inflammatory conditions. It involves oestrogen excess, progesterone resistance, immune system activation, gut microbiome disturbance, iron overload, coupled with increasing deficiencies of anti-oxidants and fatty acids.
My approach takes in a specific anti-inflammatory nutrition plan to reduce all forms for external sources of inflammation, followed by an individualised supplement plan to
- alleviate pain, bloating, fatigue;
- balance liver function and promote oestrogen detoxification,
- balancing the gut to support the microbiome,
- support high dose anti-oxidant therapy
- support specific fatty acid supplementation
and break the endo metabolic cycle.
The biggest achieved research discovery so far is the understanding that anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory therapy will break the vicious cycle of endometriosis, thus improving quality of life, although it will not result in a complete cure and these will need to be maintained throughout life.
Lifestyle changes are encouraged to support the adrenals and increase vagal tone.
